Beautiful home, all the household amenities you could possibly need, and central to many Hiawatha Forest tourist destinations
Had a wonderful stay at Hiawatha's Hideaway! Accommodations met our family vacation needs. Quiet, relaxing and on a lake. Beautiful scenery.
The Hideaway Cabin is a fantastic place to stay, especially if you have a large group. Very roomy, comfortable, and with all the modern conveniences you will ever need for your stay, we will definitely be renting again.
This is our second stay at Hiawathas Hideaway. The cabin updates are beautiful and it was clean, warm, and cozy. We were close to the snowmobile trails and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We will be back again!
Place was perfect! My family and I loved it and we’ll definitely be back! Lisa is a sweetheart and kindly answered any and all questions!
This cabin is the ideal get-a-way in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Whether you're hunting, hiking, fishing, snowmobiling, or simply want to enjoy nature - this is the perfect place. All the amenities of urban life in a remote setting. We're been hunting from this cabin ( 6 people) for several years and see no reason to change. Tom & Lisa are the perfect hosts - there if you need them, otherwise you're on your own.
We came up for the long weekend stay and it was great! It's just a quick hop away from Munising and we still felt like it was home.
This place was amazing! The cabin was so beautiful Plenty of room for our group of 9. It had all the amenities of home in a rustic atmosphere. Plenty of room and privacy outside, great fishing and swimming. The fishing boat and paddle boat was a plus! It was also very close to Lake Superior, pictured rock tours and the shipwreck tours. 5 stars for sure!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hiawatha’s Hideaway. The accommodations were excellent for the seven of us. Very clean, spacious, and well stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies, and close to many beautiful waterfalls, Lake Superior and Pictured Rocks. We also took day trips to Marquette and Mackinac Island. Lisa, the owner, was awesome! She was very responsive and provided us with helpful information on things to do. I highly recommend this beautiful home in the U.P.
Rainbow’s Promise used to be my family’s cottage. I am so grateful to have been able to rent it for the last 26 years! The owners have made lots of upgrades to it over the years. The cabin is clean, and the location is private, quiet, and relaxing. The lake is good for swimming or fishing. There are several lakes in the area that are great for kayaking, with a hiking/biking trail within walking distance, and Munising an easy drive into town. It is my favorite vacation spot.
House was very nice and very clean. Perfect location for hiking! We spent our day outside hiking on trails in the middle of the woods. So peaceful.
The home was lovely and extremely clean which was very much appreciated especially during the uncertainty of the pandemic. My family and I had a wonderful time visiting the lakes, waterfalls and hiking the beautiful forests!
Beautiful Cabin! So many bodies of lake around the area and places to go that kept us busy the entire week. Cabin was perfect for our family. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
Hiawatha's Hideaway was a perfect fit for us. We felt like we were in our own home. I am a gourmet cook and the kitchen was fully appointed with all the cooking utensils and gadgets I needed to cook for my family. The house is located in the Hiawatha National Forest, a short drive from Munising, and you feel like you are far out in nature removed from the business of life. We had no trouble getting from our vacation home to hiking, waterfalls, bike trails, pontoon rentals and local restaurants. We were even able to bring the family dog along. I would highly recommend Hiawatha's hideway for your Upper Peninsula vacation.
Four of five of us have stayed at Hiawatha's Hideaway every Jan or Feb for one week to snowmobile for several years. We love the place and it feels like home. There is plenty of room, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is spacious and has everything we need. The laundry facilities are very handy after a few days of snowmobiling. The new kitchen appliances and floor are beautiful and really make the place sharp!
The house was very nice clean and neat. It had everything needed for our stay and we enjoyed the time there. Would definitely come back. Also Lisa was very attentive to any text messages and ensured we had everything needed for our stay. Thank you.
Our group of 6 hunters have stayed at this cabin for the past 5-6 years. Having spent decades in tents and trailers, we finally upgraded and now live like Kings in the woods. With amenities like WiFi, washer/dryer, 2-car garage and 2 full baths, our group hunts in style. We have weathered many snow storms over the years and the driveway is always plowed promptly. The house is in great condition and much of the house was refinished with new appliances last year. The best part of this house are the hosts! They are like family, communicate quickly on any issues and they even joined us for dinner last year. You will have no regrets leasing Hiawatha's Hideaway!
We had a wonderful stay at Hiawatha's Hideaway. The cottage was immaculate! We loved the location. It was really quiet and only a short drive to Pictured Rocks. Thank you for having us!!
This cabin was comfortable,clean,had everything you needed for cooking, fire ring right out the door. Beautiful place and would recommend to everyone, Lisa is friendly and communication is good. thanks for the stay.

The Hideaway was perfect! They thought of all the right amenities and perks! Remodel is great! Quiet place in the middle of the Forest, but Close to the General Store and Pete’s Lake! Only 15 min to Munising, Lake Superior and Pictured Rock! Had a great time hiking and riding our UTV on the roads and trails! We found some good mud to play around in as well!
My family of 10 chose Hiawatha’s Hideaway in part because of its record of perfect 5 star reviews. We had never been to the UP. Having just spent four nights there, we are happy to continue the streak! The property with its rustic interior and lake access is itself a lovely vacation spot, while also providing a close and convenient launching point for the best sites of Pictured Rocks state park. The management were very friendly and easy to work with. We are recommending this spot to all our friends who want the UP experience.
Our entire family had such a great time staying at this home! We appreciated the space, beds, amenities, great kitchen, showers, fire pit and charm! Great communication from the host. Would absolutely recommend staying here for anyone vacationing to Lake Superior or Pictured Rocks!
Loved this cabin!!! It was remote and very quiet. The interior was very updated and clean. Will try and book again when we head north.
The place was way more then I expected, beautiful place to stay, very reasonable, quiet and relaxing, felt as if we were at home. Loved it will be back for sure. Tom and Lisa made sure there was no issues and left us feeling as we have known them our entire life.
Had a wonderful stay. Lisa was very responsive to our needs during our stay. The Forest and area was just stunning in the fall. We highly recommend and will be back.

Hiawatha Hideaway is perfect house in the forest. Everything is immaculately clean. The kitchen is a dream with every thing needed to cook. We enjoyed the solitude of the woods, while being close to all the sites in Muninsing & Picture Rocks. Enough space for everyone to spread out. Lisa & Tom are great hosts & responsive to any inquiries you have. Highly recommend staying here on your next trip to the U P.
